Carnival Cruise Line Cancellation Policies

A full refund will be made for written cancellations received at least 76 days before the date on which you are to commence travel (by air, sea or otherwise). Passengers who cancel after that date for any reason, including medical or family reasons, are subject to the following per-person cancellation fees:

75-30 days - Deposit;
29-8 days - 50% of Total Fare;
7 days or less - 100% of Total Fare.

Given that the resale of cancelled space will likely result in a lost opportunity to sell other space, these fees are due regardless of resale. Fees incurred as a result of cancellation cannot be applied to future bookings.  In the event of occupancy changes (for example, one guest cancels from a stateroom originally booked for four guests), Carnival reserves the right to change the stateroom assignment, subject to availability, for reservations in staterooms that accommodate three or more guests.  Name changes or additions will be allowed at Carnival's discretion and are subject to cancellation charges and rate increases. No refunds will be made in the event of "no shows" or interruption or cancellation by the guest after the start of the cruise.  We strongly recommend the purchase of travel protection.

Carnival's Cruise Vacation Protection Plan

Section I - Travel Arrangement Protection

Trip Cancellation:  Up to Total Cruise Vacation Cost:  If you have to cancel your vacation for certain, specified reasons (such as injury, illness or a death affecting you, your immediate family or your traveling companion), Carnival will refund your otherwise nonrefundable Carnival cruise.  IMPORTANT:  As an added service to Carnival's guests purchasing the plan, in the event you are denied a cash refund for your trip cancellation due to a "pre-existing condition" (as detailed in the Plan Description) Carnival will instead provide you with a future cruise credit in the amount of your cancellation penalty.

Trip Interruption:  Up to Total Cruise Vacation Cost:  If you have to leave your vacation unexpectedly (again, for specified reasons such as illness as described above), Carnival will refund to you the unused, nonrefundable portion of your cruise vacation payment, plus reimburse you for the cost of returning home.

Trip Delay:  If you miss the departure of your cruise due to carrier-caused delays or other specified reasons, Carnival will reimburse you up to $500 for additional accommodations, meals and "catch-up" transportation expenses.

Section II - Travel Protection Coverage & Services

Baggage Protection:  If your baggage or personal property is lost or damaged, the Plan will cover up to $1500.  If your bags are delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for more than 24 hours, the Plan will reimburse you up to $500 for the purchase of necessary personal effects.

Medical Expense Coverage:  Should you become injured or sick during your vacation, the Plan will reimburse you up to $10,000 for necessary medical expenses.

Emergency Evacuation:  In the event that a serious illness or injury requires air or ground transportation to a specialized facility or to return home, the Plan provides up to $30,000 in covered medical services and supplies (coordinated by our 24-hour assistance provider) to help ensure your safe transport.

24-hour Assistance:  One toll-free telephone call gives you access to a worldwide network of medical and travel-related professionals who will work together to solve your medical or travel-related problem.
